Faryab

with a population of approximately 1.109 million and 14 districts, has been plagued by
insecurity due to ongoing conflict, resulting in displacement, particularly in its mostly
mountainous regions. The province faces challenges such as high levels of illiteracy, gender-
based violence (GBV), and limited access to education and healthcare. Additionally,
consecutive droughts have further exacerbated the situation.
ADWSO addresses these challenges by running community Child-Friendly Spaces for displaced
families, providing psychosocial support for children affected by conflict, and establishing mobile
health clinics to reach remote areas. We also offer literacy and vocational training programs and
create livelihood opportunities for both male and female youth in the province.
